To program your first light show in Chauvet ShowXpress, you must navigate three essential core screens: Setup (Patch), Editor (Builder), and Live. The process involves mapping your physical hardware inside the software, building individual look sequences, and organizing them onto execution buttons. 1. Patch Your Fixtures (Setup Screen)

Before programming colors or movements, you must map your lights so the software knows exactly where to send data signals. Open Setup tab. Click Add Fixture. Locate your brand and model.

Choose the DMX channel mode. Match this exactly to the mode set on your physical light fixture.

Set the starting address. ShowXpress will automatically calculate channel layouts to prevent overlaps.

Press Patch. Your mapped lights will appear in the fixture layout matrix.

Use the 2D Viewer to arrange the digital visual representations of your fixtures. 2. Create Your First Lighting Scenes (Editor Screen)

The Editor screen is where you actively adjust parameters like color, brightness, strobes, and positioning.
